As you may or may not be aware, Chuckey Doak Middle School was approved for a new eight classroom addition to the front of our current building. We are excited to announce that construction on this new wing has already begun. Due to this construction, the front entrance into our building will not be available so it is necessary for us to make changes to our morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up procedures. We are asking parents and/or guardians to please abide by these changes for the 2022-2023 school year.
Morning Drop-Off Procedure (Beginning at 7:15 am)
We are asking parents to enter Chuckey Doak Road from 11-E and then proceed to the front of our parking lot. Instead of circling the parking lot to our front entrance, parents will continue to the small access road that leads to the back of our building (looking at the front of the building, this will be on the far right). Parents will continue to the back of the school. Students will be dropped off at this location and enter the school through our back entrance. We then ask parents to exit from our back parking lot and make a right onto Chuckey Doak Access (the road between the middle school and high school) leading to Ripley Island Rd. Vehicles will NOT be permitted to turn left toward Chuckey Doak Road as this will be used for buses only.
Afternoon Pick-up Procedure (Beginning at 2:50pm)
Parent and/or Guardians will follow the morning drop-off procedure to the back parking lot of Chuckey Doak Middle School. Once at the back of the school, vehicles will be placed in three pick-up lines. Staff members will then call students to their vehicles. Vehicles will exit the back parking lot and turn right onto Chuckey Doak Access, leading to Ripley Island Rd. Vehicles will NOT be permitted to turn left toward Chuckey Doak Road as this will be used for buses only.
Bus pick-up / Drop-off procedure
Buses will enter Chuckey Doak Road from 11-E. Buses will park to load and unload at our gym entrance at the side of our building. Buses will then proceed on Chuckey Doak Road to Chuckey Doak High school. Buses will not be utilizing the Chuckey Doak Access Road.
As with any changes, there is always a learning curve. We ask that you be patient as we work through these changes and address any issues that may arise.
