WBIR Looking for Junior Anchors & Rising Hearts

In 2020, we are looking to highlight area students in two ways: A weekly Junior anchor segment and a monthly story for our 10 Rising Hearts Series.

Each Tuesday during the school year, area students appear live on our 4pm program as a “Junior Anchor”.  The children are interviewed by our anchor team and then help with things like interviews, cooking segments amd weather forecasting. It’s a unique experience that they won’t soon forget and a great way to highlight the student’s personalities.

We would like to reach out to area school systems to ask them for help in finding star students to appear in our Jr. Anchor segment.

All they have to do is record a 30 second segment highlighting their personalities, and either visit our Jr. Anchor page wbir.com/junior-anchor or email the clips to: Lee Ann Bowman lbowman@wbir.com .  If your school has an Audio/Visual department, you can also submit those videos as well. In either case, please include a daytime phone number.

Every month, we feature a student who is making a difference in their community through our 10 Rising Hearts.  Here is an example of the type of story we are looking to tell:

Submissions can be emailed  10hearts@wbir.com

We strongly believe that both of these opportunities are a great way for area school systems to show off their hard work through these talented and compassionate students.
