General Information
Welcome! I hope everyone is ready to get back to the business of ...... Science!
If your child is out of school for any reason, please have them go to CANVAS to complete their work. All work to be completed each day is there. They need to find the date they would be absent from my class and then complete the material under that date to stay caught up while they are out.
So if you are unsure how to get to Canvas here's how:
Once a student logins to their Chromebook, they will have access to Classlink.
Classlink (an app on the students' devices) will provide access to other programs students may be using. If you are having a hard time finding this on your computer, click here.
- They will login by typing:
- Username: graduationyearfirstname.lastname
- A typical login would be: 24jane.doe
- Password: Its the same as they have used in the past. It starts with the capital letters of GC followed by the numbers they have been assigned. If your child does not remember it, they will need to ask us for help.
- Username: graduationyearfirstname.lastname
CANVAS: All Greene County Middle Schools utilize CANVAS.
- Once you are in Classlink, there should be a CANVAS app on the screen. Once they click on this, it should automatically open.
- Each class will have a "box" that has ELA, Science, SS and Math on it. Once they click that box, they will then see information for that class.
- This is where the student should go each day to find out what they need to complete.
Please be sure to review my syllabus (see upper right corner for this link) for 8th Grade Science for more details about standards I will be covering this school year as well as my expectations for students. There is a lot of information that may answer some questions you have.
